The Michigan Department of Transportation announced on April 10 that it will close the right two lanes of northbound Telegraph Road (US-24) near Eureka Road starting Monday morning, April 13. The closure is expected to last several days as crews complete remaining punch list work for the ongoing I-75/US-24 Connector project.
The department said the southbound US-24 and I-75 connector will remain closed through the end of May as previously planned. These closures are part of a larger effort to improve infrastructure in the area.
Later this summer, MDOT plans to replace concrete panels along Telegraph Road between Goddard and Eureka. During this construction period, each side of Telegraph Road may be reduced to one lane at times. Officials said there may be occasions when intersections are blocked, but only one major intersection will be impeded at any given time, similar to last year’s approach.
MDOT noted that all construction schedules are dependent on weather conditions.
The ongoing work aims to address road safety and traffic flow in a busy corridor. Residents and commuters are advised to plan alternate routes during periods of lane reduction or intersection blockages.
