The City of Lincoln Park has launched a citywide program to replace all residential and commercial water meters over the next 10 to 12 months. The effort is aimed at updating the city’s infrastructure and improving water service for residents.

To carry out the replacements, the city is working with Master Meter, Inc. and HydroCorp. Residents will also be able to use My Water Advisor 2.0, an online portal that allows users to track their water usage in real time from any web-enabled device, set monthly budgets, monitor consumption, and receive alerts about leaks or other issues.

According to the city, “HydroCorp technicians—clearly identified as authorized city contractors—will replace meters at no cost to residents. HydroCorp will send a letter with instructions on how to schedule your appointment. Please note that city staff cannot schedule appointments for this program.”

Residents are being asked to make sure their water meters are accessible and that shut-off valves on both sides of the meter are functioning before their scheduled appointment.

“This upgrade will significantly enhance the reliability of the city’s water system and provide valuable tools for managing water use,” stated the announcement.

Further updates about the program will be provided as it continues. Residents are advised to watch for scheduling notices from HydroCorp.
