The City of Taylor has announced two periods for free citywide garage sales in 2026. The first event will take place from May 22 to May 31, and the second from August 14 to August 23. These dates allow residents two full weekends to participate, offering flexibility in case of poor weather.

During these designated periods, residents do not need a permit to hold garage sales. Organizers are asked to set up their sales in open areas and provide disposal containers lined with plastic bags that can be sealed and disposed of after the event. Advertising signs should not be placed on public rights-of-way or easements.

After the citywide sale events conclude, residents can dispose of unwanted items at the Taylor Hills Transfer Station and Compost Site located at 16300 Racho Road. The facility is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Residents must use any available free dump privileges or pay for disposal costs if necessary. Commercial dumping is not allowed, and certain items such as explosives, vehicles, auto parts, boats, concrete, hazardous waste, compost materials, tree branches, or tires will not be accepted.
