The City of Trenton announced on Apr. 8 that a public hearing will be held by the City Council to discuss the adoption of the recommended city budget for the fiscal year 2026-2027. The hearing is scheduled for Monday, May 4, at 6:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Trenton City Hall, located at 2800 Third Street.
The purpose of this hearing is to allow citizens and taxpayers to provide input regarding the proposed property tax millage rate that will support the recommended budget. Public participation is available both in person and virtually via Zoom.
Immediately following the budget hearing, a regular meeting of the City Council will take place to consider formal adoption of the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget.
Copies of the recommended city budget, along with budgets from the three preceding fiscal years, are available for examination beginning April 7 at both the Trenton City Clerk’s Office during business hours and at the city library. The documents can also be viewed online through www.trentonmi.org. For additional information or questions about accessing these materials, residents are encouraged to contact the City Clerk’s office at 734-675-8600.
Debra R. Devitt, City Clerk, and Jill Cooper, City Controller, signed off on this announcement.
