State Representative Jamie Thompson, from Brownstown, recently welcomed Shannon Ciecko to the state Capitol for the governor’s annual State of the State address. Ciecko serves as the chair of the Wayne County Chapter of Moms For Liberty. This organization focuses on educating and empowering parents regarding their parental rights.

In a statement, Rep. Thompson expressed her appreciation for having Ciecko accompany her at the event: “I was honored to be joined by Shannon – a nurse, mom, wife and champion for our children – for the State of the State address.” She further emphasized her commitment to advocating for parents and children within the Legislature: “I will continue fighting for parents and kids in the Legislature and ensuring that plans we pass make sense for hardworking families.”

Rep. Thompson’s district includes residents from Brownstown Township, Flat Rock, Rockwood, Woodhaven, and parts of Taylor in Wayne County. The 28th House District she represents also encompasses Berlin Township and Frenchtown Township in Monroe County.
