Wayne County Community College District issued the following announcement on Sept. 17
Have you ever wondered what a music conductor thinks about, or what the process looks like? Michigan Philharmonic’s Music Director and Conductor, Nan Washburn, will attempt to demystify this illusive and intriguing musical craft in “The Silent Art of the Conductor” on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at WCCCD’s Mary Ellen Stempfle University Center in Harper Woods. From podiums and batons to scores and tailcoats, find out everything you’ve ever wanted to know about conducting an orchestra. The presentation will even include an audience participation lesson in conducting. The event is presented by WCCCD’s School of Continuing Education and is open to the public at no cost. Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact the Heinz C. Prechter Educational and Performing Arts Center at 734-374-3232 or visit www.wcccd.edu/EPAC/site/index.html.
