STATE OF MICHIGAN: Bay City State Park - Winter Festival to be held on February 15

State of Michigan recently issued the following announcement.

Bay City State Park - Winter Festival

Date:  February 15, 2020  

Time:  09:00 AM - 03:00 PM

Location: Bay City State Park, 3582 State Park Dr., Bay City, MI 48706-1356

It’s free fishing weekend! This event focuses on getting families outdoors and exploring Michigan’s winter wonderland. Activities include:

  • A Family Ice Fishing Derby - bait & poles provided, holes pre-drilled, prizes for the best catch! 
  • Youth Ice Fishing Clinic - children will assemble a free jig stick, design a jig and learn ice fishing tips!
  • Snow Snake Clinic & Tournament - families can decorate an snow snake and see how far they can slide it across the snow!
Families can also enjoy winter wildlife watching programs, live animal presentations, snowshoe hikes and more! All activities are free and designed for the entire family! Hot beverages will be provided but families are encouraged to spend the day at the park and bring lunch or snacks. No advanced registration required, however scout groups are encouraged to call ahead to schedule group activities. Supplies for clinics are available first come, first served.
