UNITED DAIRY INDUSTRY OF MICHIGAN: Pay It Forward With Latte Love

Latte

United Dairy Industry of Michigan issued the following announcement on Feb. 27

Love is in the air or maybe that’s just the smell of fresh, made to order lattes! Milk Means More teamed up to surprise and delight consumers with lattes all “Februdairy” long on behalf of our Michigan dairy farm families. From local coffee shops to an assisted living facility, this surprise visit was love at first sip because the lattes were made with real milk.

Why should you enjoy real milk in your lattes?

Our farmers love providing a delicious and nutritious beverage everyone can enjoy. There are number of benefits to enjoying lattes made with cow’s milk.

It’s nutritious and delicious

Milk contains 9 essential nutrients, including bone-building calcium. Reach for a latte made with real milk and know you are getting nutrients you need each day with a tasty treat.

It’s fresh and local

Did you know that 97% of Michigan dairy farms are family owned? And milk in Michigan is local! Our dairy farmers produce more than enough milk to supply the state.  It takes just 48 hours for milk to go from farm to processor to the store.

It’s the perfect pairing

Many baristas prefer to use real milk for specialty coffee drinks. It has the right taste, creamy texture, and foams consistently when steamed because of the eight grams of protein!

It’s sustainable

Dairy farmers use technology and best practices to foster a more sustainable future. In fact, to produce a gallon of milk, farmers are using 90% less land and 65% less water, with 67% less greenhouse gas emissions than they did 70 years ago. Farmers have pledged to further reduce GHG another 25% by 2025.
