Sam’s Club in Southgate has announced it has opened a COVID-19 drive-thru testing site in its parking lot.
The store is at 15700 North Line Road.
Testing will be administered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to those who are showing symptoms of the novel coronavirus. The site is offered through Walmart, local authorities and Quest Diagnostics.
Wayne County Executive Warren Evans says that the key to battling the virus is testing.
"The key to beating COVID-19 is to make testing available to everyone who needs it,” Evans told the News-Herald. “Wayne County has been hit hard with cases and providing barrier-free testing opportunities all across the county will help in saving lives. I am thankful for the partnership with Walmart and the city of Southgate in continuing our efforts to combat this virus.”
Testing at the site requires an appointment, which can be made online at http://myquestcovidtest.com.
