Event Name: WEBCAST: Asia’s Covid-19 Challenge: Bracing for the Impact on Economic Development
Date: May. 4, 2020
Time: 9:00am – 10:00am
In its latest assessment of the economies of Asia, the Asian Development Bank projects growth in the region’s developing countries to slow down to 2.2 percent as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak and overall slowdown in the global economy. The decline in growth is broad-based, affecting the People's Republic of China and India, as well as the rest of developing Asia’s economies. Risks to the region's economies are extremely large due to the uncertain evolution and effects of the ongoing pandemic. Join us for a discussion on the latest findings of the ADB’s flagship Asian Development Outlook report as well as estimates and policy implications of the pandemic's economic impact on the world's most populous region.
Please note: this event will be online only. There will be a live webcast on this page. You may submit questions for the panelists by emailing asia@wilsoncenter.org or on Twitter by tagging @AsiaProgram.
