Ecorse Public Schools is planning to meet many different needs for the upcoming school year, according to a letter from Superintendent Dr. Josha Talison.
As the district plans to reopen and follow all state requirements, it will be sending out a survey to gain more input from parents, students and staff.
"The Ecorse Public Schools is preparing robust plans to meet the varying needs of all of our families for the 2020-21 school year," Talison said in his letter. "Our work will also strategically align with the plan that the governor’s office intends to release on June 30, 2020, throughout the state regarding the reopening of schools this fall."
The district will be focusing on three areas when it reopens: teaching, learning and technology; school facilities and operations; and student and staff wellness.
"While I am eager to open schools in a traditional sense in September 2020, my number one concern is the safety and well-being of all of our students and staff," Talison said in his letter. "In closing, the Ecorse Public Schools is dedicated to the safety and educational well-being of all our students and staff. Our school district is truly 'Committed to Excellence'."
