City of Taylor issued the following announcement on July 8.
City of Taylor offerings on the municipal government channels of Comcast and Wow have improved greatly over the past month, and Saturdays now offer a wide range of informational programming.
This Saturday will feature the replay of a ceremony honoring the late Holly McGeogh, held recently at the Taylor Veterans Museum. A portion of I-75 has been dedicated to Ms. McGeogh, thanks to legislation sponsored by State Representative Alex Garza (D-Taylor). That show will be shown beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Several “Taylor News Breaks” will be shown throughout the day. Each will feature a different topic and guests:
- Ron Hinrichs, Southern Wayne County Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, discusses business and the labor shortage: 9 a.m.
- Vanessa Morris, director of the Taylor Community Library, discusses the new “StoryWalk” and other library issues: 9:30 a.m.
- John Blair, Taylor Police chief, discusses distracted driving and other law enforcement issues: 2:30 p.m.
- Guido Ulin and Chelsea Nunnally, Taylor Recreation Department, discuss the newly renovated Recreation Center along with other interesting topics: 2:05 p.m.
- Sam DiCicco, supervisor of the Good to Great Neighborhood Program, discusses recent updates on the campaign: 7:30 a.m.
A bond proposal for the Taylor School District is explained at 10:30 p.m., and this year’s Taylor High School Commencement Ceremonies air at 4 p.m.
This week’s City Council meeting is replayed at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
And this year’s National Day of Prayer celebration at City Hall replays at 1:20 p.m.
Many of these shows also air at various times throughout the week, unless preempted by a live presentation.
