City of Allen Park recently issued the following announcement.
City of Allen Park, Allen Park, MI Wayne County, in conjunction with Michigan State Police Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division, has applied for Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for Acquisition and Demolition of 17070 Keppen Ave. and the acquisition of Parcel Number 30 004 020 975 000, a vacant lot. The objective of HMA programs is to fund mitigation measures that reduce the risk of loss of life and property from future hazard events or disasters. The project name is the Acquisition and Demolition of 17070 Keppen Ave. and Parcel Number 30 004 020 975 000, a vacant lot. The project is to acquire the house, garage and real property at 17070 Keppen Ave. The scope of work is the complete demolition of the house and garage, remove the debris to a landfill, backfill basement, compact fill and regrade lot. In addition, the vacant lot adjacent to 17070 Keppen will be acquired. Both 17070 Keppen Ave. and Parcel number 30 004 020 975 000 will remain open space for in perpetuity.
Under the National Environmental Policy Act, EO 11988 and EO 11990, public notice is required of any federal actions that may affect floodplains or wetlands. Under the National Historic Preservation Act, public notice is also required for some projects which have the potential to affect historic properties. All necessary permits and approvals will be obtained prior to construction and completion of the project.
