Public Hearing - Allen Park Downtown Development Authority Tax Increment Financing and Development Plan

City of Allen Park recently issued the following announcement.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 6:00pm

Notice is hereby given that The City of Allen Park City Council will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday November 9, 2021, during its regular City Council meeting at 15915 Southfield Rd., Allen Park, MI. beginning at 6:00 p.m. The City Council is considering an amendment to Section 2-447 of the Allen Park Code of Ordinances which will amend and restate the Allen Park Downtown Development Authority Tax Increment Financing and Development Plan (DDA) and extend the DDA tax increment financing plan an additional 20 years. 

A council study session and opportunity to meet will be held at 5:00 p.m. before the council meeting to which taxing authorities and the public are invited. After the public hearing, city council will conduct the first and second reading by title only of the proposed ordinance to amend Section 2-447. If your property is located in the shaded area on the map below, your property is located within the DDA district in which the proposed amendment applies. THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT DOES NOT INCREASE ANY TAXES OR PROPOSE ANY NEW MILLAGES. 

The proposed First Amendment and Restatement of the Allen Park Downtown Development Authority Tax Increment Financing and Development Plan which includes maps, plats, and a description of the development plan, including the method of relocating families and individuals who may be displaced from the area, is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Allen Park City Hall, located at the address above. 

THE DEVELOPMENT PLAN DOES NOT CONTEMPLATE ANY INDIVIDUALS OR FAMILIES BEING RELOCATED OR DISPLACED. All aspects of the development plan will be open for discussion at the public hearing. The map below shows the proposed development area in relation to highways, streets, streams, and otherwise.

Reasonable accommodations for individuals in need of assistance will be made if notification is received prior to the public hearing.
