Melvindale Police Department recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Melvindale is no longer contracting animal services with the Brownstown Animal Shelter. Until a contract is agree upon with another municipality to maintain our animal services, we will be using River Rouge Animal Shelter.
If you need animal control related services, please contact the Melvindale Police Department. All dogs will be taken to the shelter by police personnel. The River Rouge Animal Shelter will NOT accept walk in animal drop offs from the public.
