Romulus Community Schools issued the following announcement on Mar 4.
Romulus Middle School students had the opportunity to participate in the Earn-A-Bike Program.
The program is in partnership with the University of Michigan and PEAC, a local company that is running the course and supplying the mechanics. Over the course of 3 weeks, students will learn some basic bike repair, bike maintenance, and learn about riding safety. At the conclusion of the program, each student who participates will receive a bike, helmet, and maintenance tool kit to keep the bike running for years to come.
We kicked off the program this week and students already learned how to diagnose simple repairs, to undo the brakes, and remove the tire. I cannot wait to see what our students can do next week.
