WYANDOTTE VOTERS!
The City of Wyandotte Clerk's Office sent out applications to our Permanent Absent Voter List on May 12, 2022 - that's 6,822 voters that received applications! As of July 19, 2022, we have received 1,326 Absent Voter ballots of the 3,514 that requested them.
DO YOU HAVE A BALLOT OR APPLICATION FOR A BALLOT AT HOME AND WANT TO KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT?? We're here to help! Here are the deadlines for the return of Absent Voter Applications and Ballots:
Applications (Red, White, and Blue folded postcards):
• Mail Request Deadline: If the ballot must be issued by mail, the application for the ballot must reach the election official no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the election.
• In-Person Request Deadline: Absent voter ballots can be received by a voter in person anytime up to 4:00 p.m. on the day prior to the election. A voter who visits his or her clerk’s office on the day prior to the election to obtain an absent voter ballot must vote the ballot in the office; the voter is not permitted to leave the office with the ballot.
Ballots:
• Ballots must be SIGNED and RETURNED no later than Election Day (August 2, 2022)!
While mail is still an option to receive and return absentee ballots, the recommendation is to pick up and drop off your ballot IN PERSON from this point forward. Per the Secretary of State, voters who already have their ballots are encouraged to return them as soon as possible — by mail no later than July 19, or by hand delivering to their clerk’s office or ballot drop box. Whether you are returning an application for a ballot or a voted and signed ballot, please feel free to use our convenient drop box located just west of our drive-thru lanes. This drop box is most easily accessed by the parking lot entrance on Eureka Rd.
THANK YOU FOR VOTING!
