Two key games on tap today at Junior League World Series

There are six teams left in competition for the Junior League Baseball World Series . Two games are scheduled for today. Both were postponed after yesterday's nearly two-hour rain delay. Note the times of the games:

4 PM - The Asia-Pacific champions from the Chung Shan Junior Little League in Chinese Taipei (2-0) vs. the Latin America champions from the Pabao Little League in Willemstad, Curacao (2-0)

7 PM - The USA East champions from the Keystone Little League in Clinton County, Pennsylvania (1-0) vs. the USA Southwest champions from the Oil Belt Little League in Corpus Christi, Texas (1-0)

The other two remaining teams -- the Europe-Africa champions from the Czech Republic and the USA Southeast champions from Virginia -- will resume play on Friday and are awaiting the outcomes of today's games to see who they will be playing.

Two teams were eliminated yesterday (Wednesday, August 17). Taylor North, the host team, lost to USA Southeast, 11-4, thanks to an eight-run first inning explosion from the winners. Mexico lost to Europe-Africa, 9-2, in the International Pool.

All games of the Junior League World Series are played at World Series Field in the Taylor South Little League complex at Heritage Park, 12111 Pardee Road. Admission is $5 per carload per day or $15 for a week's pass. Parking is included.

Weekday games are broadcast on ESPN Plus. Sunday's world championship game at Noon will be broadcast on ESPN2.
