On July 6, 2022, Ordinance 468.01 - Parking on Refuse Pick-Up Days - was updated. The new no parking times are 8:00am – 4:00pm. The target start date for enforcement of the updated ordinance is November 1, 2022. We will begin updating no parking signs next month. Please watch for updates on our Facebook page, website, Southgate Today magazine, and from GFL, our trash pick-up contractor.
Our apologies for any confusion our post regarding the updated trash day parking ordinance may have created. Some points for clarification:
1. The only change to the ordinance is the no parking times. The new no parking times as of November, 1, 2022 will be 8:00am-4:00pm
2. We will continue to ticket rather than tow. The new no parking times will not be enforced any earlier than November 1, 2022
3. We are committed to thoroughly communicating the new times. The new times will be communicated on social media, our website, in Southgate Today, and in a letter sent to every house by our trash pick-up contractor, GFL.
