Storm restoration update:
• As of 7:00 a.m. Friday September 2nd, nearly 212,000 customers have been restored of the 265,000 DTE Energy customers who were impacted by the severe weather that swept through southeast Michigan Monday evening.
• We expect that 95% of impacted customers will be restored by the end of the day Friday.
• The severe weather led to more than 3,300 downed power lines. Our priority Tuesday priority was securing downed lines to help ensure the safety of our customers and communities. Today the focus will be restoring power to customers as quickly and safely as possible.
• More than 1,000 linemen will continue to work in the field with additional support from more than 1,000 out-of-state linemen to help our Storm Response Team make repairs as quickly and safely as possible. The out-of-state crews arrived Tuesday from as far away as Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
• Our crews respond to the most dangerous situations first, such as downed power lines, and then will prioritize restoring health and safety facilities like hospitals and police stations.
