Gibraltar Fire Department loves to have the community, schools, churches, and residents

The Gibraltar Fire Department loves to have the community, schools, churches, and residents join in on events that we are having in town. We have reached out to Parsons elementary school, Shumate Middle School and Carlson High School for many projects and events that we have participated in town. Chief William Cain reached out to Carlson High School Art Department to see if any of the art students would be interested in painting a Mural within the Fire Station. The Art teacher had Kira Lewis and Julia Stein, reach out to me to let me know that they were interested in painting the Mural.

“I had a starting point for the girls to see what it was that we were looking for and then they took the lead. Kira and Julia started about a month ago and traced out the mural with pencil and the completed it with 4 visits to finish the painting, and came up with the beautiful mural that now exists. Kira and Julia tried to use The City of Gibraltar Logo and The Maltese Cross for the Gibraltar Fire Department and using their skills came up with what is now the Mural of The Gibraltar Fire Department. Kira and Julia are very talented and have a promising future in Art, we are very pleased with the outcome and are happy to know that it was completed by two graduates of Carlson High School.” ~Chief Cain
