The Woodhaven Police Department has received several calls and complaints in regards to the individual protesting at the corner of Hall and West roads. This individual, who as referenced in previous news stories claims to be of African American and Native American decent and is protesting what he believes to be unfair treatment by police and the court system. The signs he has are understandably upsetting to see and read. The signs he has read "Black Lives Don’t Matter , “Native American Lives Don’t Matter”, and "White Crime Pays". These signs are posted next to him while waving a confederate flag.
We DO NOT SUPPORT WHAT HE IS DOING, BUT WE DO SUPPORT THE CONSTITUTION AND HIS RIGHT TO DO SO under it. The Constitutions of United States and State of Michigan provide the rights of citizens to protest and we will uphold these rights of our citizens. We are asking that you DO NOT confront this individual but instead ignore him. It's our understanding that he intends to protest again, especially in the month of February.
