A few highlights from our previous Board Meeting!
The robotics team, Grosse Ile Devil Bots shared their competition service project. Coach Rick presented how the three robotics teams worked together utilizing one of First Robotics founding principles, gracious professionalism. Josiah Sebastian (4th grade) spoke about how he helped his team the Mechanical Maniacs.
Superintendent Valerie Orr was given a ground level introduction to the competition field prior to the board meeting. Three Mechanical Maniac team members give Mrs. Garza the low-down competition challenges prior to the meeting.
Mrs. Dailing and Ms. Linton, Middle School ELA teachers, support their students Grace Ballantyne, Josh Berwald, and Morgan Dilsizian for their achievements in the VFW Patriot's Pen essay contest.

All three essayists advanced to the District VFW competition. Students were honored at a banquet on January 7 along with essayists from 20 other local VFW Patriot's Pen winners. Josh Berwald, 8th grade, earned the distinct honor of winning 3rd place out of over 60 other essayists in attendance.
