How many students were enrolled in Melvindale-North Allen Park Schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 2,956 students enrolled in Melvindale-North Allen Park Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.5% less than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53.5% of them were boys, and 46.5% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 68.8% of the Melvindale-North Allen Park Schools total enrollment.

Melvindale-North Allen Park Schools covers four schools within Wayne County with its main office in Melvindale. Among them, Melvindale High School recorded the highest enrollment of 955 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
