Allen Park Public Schools welcomed 3,684 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 3,684 students enrolled in Allen Park Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.5% less than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.9% of them were boys, and 49.1% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 77.3% of the Allen Park Public Schools total enrollment.

Allen Park Public Schools covers six schools within Wayne County with its main office in Allen Park. Among them, Allen Park High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,152 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
