Woodhaven-Brownstown School District Education: 5,603 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 5,603 students enrolled in Woodhaven-Brownstown School District in the 2022-23 school year, 0.3% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.9% of them were boys, and 48.1% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 62.7% of the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District total enrollment.

Woodhaven-Brownstown School District covers 10 schools within Wayne County with its main office in Woodhaven. Among them, Woodhaven High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,203 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
