Michigan can suspend the liquor licenses of establishments that are found to be violating COVID-19 health regulations. | Pixabay
The suspension of liquor licenses of three restaurants and bars that violated COVID-19 regulations was announced recently by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC), according to Michigan Capitol Confidential.
The violations included failure to require staff and customers to wear face masks and failure to prohibit customers from congregating. The businesses that were in violation were located in Lakeview, Houghton and St. Joseph.
The state of Michigan is pushing for residents to report businesses who are out of compliance with state orders, and they've provided information on how to file a report online.
“The MLCC’s Enforcement Division, on behalf of the Commission, investigates all complaints relative to allegations of violations of the code, rules and executive orders, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic,” the state press release said, according to Michigan Capitol Confidential.
Michigan has suspended or fined the liquor licenses of seven other businesses for similar COVID-19 violations.
