Romulus Community Schools issued the following announcement on Nov 23.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
As we follow our District’s data, we have noticed a high number of confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) and even higher numbers of Hand, Foot, and Mouth cases among students and staff members in our District. Also, the state of Michigan has the highest COVID numbers in the country presently. To this end, these factors and others were taken into consideration to reach the following decision.
On Wednesday, November 24, 2021, all students in Romulus Community Schools have a half-day of instruction in the morning. Students will have an asynchronous instructional day on this day (AM only). Students will NOT report to their school building. Students will use their Chromebooks or have physical packets to complete their assignments independently during this time. Teachers will be available via standard communication methods (Class Dojo, Email, Google Classroom, etc.). School will resume in-person instruction on Monday, November 29, 2021.
We apologize for any inconvenience this decision may cause, but we are doing our best to keep all of our students and staff members safe. Have a peaceful Thanksgiving Break!
